About club

Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai" was founded in February 2004.

Our Club unites people actively indulged in Aikido, and also who are interested in various spheres of Japanese culture.

Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai" is a member of Russian Aikido Federation and supports professional and amateur interests of people in traditional Aikido Aikikai trainings.

Club members annually take part in testimonial-training seminars held by Minoru Kanetsuka-sensai and other masters of Aikido.

Aikido style practiced in Club - Aikikai.

The training program consists of:

• - traditional and sports Aikido;
• - work with Jo;
• - work with Boken;
• - work with Tanto.

Membership in Club

Membership in Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai" is carried out on a voluntary basis. Any person training with one of the Club instructors can become a member of the Club.

Before joining the Club, it is necessary for you to pass interview with the instructor of the group, which you want to attend and hand over the health certificate about the absence of contra-indications for training Aikido.

You have one month for making a decision to join Aikido Club "Senkai". During that period you have an opportunity finally to decide - whether you will train in this group, do you like Aikido, or you decide to train in the other place.

In case of the positive decision it is necessary:

• - to fill in the questionnaire in legible handwriting given by the instructor of the group;
• - to bring two black-white photos 3x4
• - to pay an entrance fee - 400 rub. (for adult) and 300 rub. (for child)

This payment is intended for official registration of the documents. It can be handled cash to the instructor or transferred to the account of the Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai". This sum includes the annual Club membership fee for the current year.

The final decision on acceptance of the new member of the Club takes the Presidium of the Club.

At registration of membership you receive the established sample member certificate of the Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai", which you keep.

For repeated official registration member certificate (lost or damaged) you pay an entrance fee.

Besides an entrance fee, Members of the Club make an annual payment - 10 o.a. and monthly payments (the sum depends on location of the hall and contingent (adults or children).

It is advisable to do the next year annual membership payment not later than November current year.

Monthly payment should be made regularly in the beginning of every month, without the reminder of the instructor.

Members of Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai" undertake to carry out rules of behaviour in dojo, and also have rights and duties of Aikido Club member.

Membership in Russian Aikido Federation

Membership in Moscow Aikido Club 'Senkai" means itself as well a membership in Russian Aikido Federation, where our club is a member. It is preferable, but not necessary.

Members of Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai"
are obliged:

• to observe the Club-law and decisions taken by the managing organs of the Club within the limits of their competence;
• actively promote the achievement of the Club-law purposes;
• to take part in actions carried out by the Club in accordance with it's Club-law;
• to pay the membership fees in time;
• to fulfill decisions of the managing Club organ;
• to treat carefully the property of the Club;
• to follow closely sensei (instructor) explanations and execute technique remembering about the safety of the partner. It is not allowed to execute technique in rude and severe form.;
• not to cause injury (trauma) to the partner;

Members of Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai"
have right:

• to elect and be elected to the managing and control organs of the Club;
• to take part in general meetings of the Club;
• to receive any information about the Club activity from the organs of the Club;
• to make suggestions on matters of perfection and development activity of the Club;
• to use all educational, methodical, scientific, informational Club sources/materials;
• to use help of the Club in protection of the social rights and privileges set for the Club members;
• to make free will contributions and gratuitous transfers to the Club both in monetary and material expression;
• freely leave Club membership;

Members of Moscow Aikido Club "Senkai"
can be stopped:

• free-will leaving of the Club by written request of it's member
• in case of the Club liquidation
• in case of expel from the Club by Presidium decision for breach of the Club-law

Club symbol

	The "Pentaleaf" and the circle located in center in shape of whirlwind are used as the Club symbol. The "Pentaleaf" specifies the belonging of the Club to Aikido Aikikai.
	Hieroglyphic spelling of "Senkai" consists of two hieroglyphics: - Sen - to spin, turn, surround… - Kai - to rotate, turn….

Senkai - means rotation, revolution…. It is closely connected with the principle of circle generated by O-Sensei's:

As the spirit of the circle brings harmony and resolves all conflicts, the Aikido technique is based on circular movements. The reactions of body, mind and spirit to the principle of circle are vitally important to technique. The circle closes space and from that complete freedom of this emptiness comes ki.

Starting from center of this birthplace, the creation of life with the help of spirit unites with infinite, immeasurable Universe. The Spirit is the Creator, the eternal parent, that gives birth to all things.

Creation spirit has no bounds due to this principle. Within the bounds of circle, ki Universe directs in process of creation, evolution and protection. Karma movement in this world is the circle of balance. Aikido Budo - is the circle of protection. The circle of spirit - is the ki source.

The spirit of circle with aiki help unites spirit, mind and matter, and nourish life. The spirit of circle contains and creates technique with no bounds, because it consists of all ki Universe. It is the circle of spirit in Aikido. There would be no pleasure, nor wisdom, neither integrity, nor truth, no possibility to unit spirit and substance without it. Regenerative function of body would stop exist without it. It is eternally evolving cycle of koku.

The circle of spirit begins and ends in unity of the Universe. Aikido Budo arise from perfection of the spirit of circle. The essence of this Budo is to use mutual complementary action of cause and effect, and to involve all in itself, as thought it was on your palm. You have spirit, so you should understand that every person has spirit. When life processes unites spirit and basic principle of circle gives rise to aiki, all things aspire to completeness with help of the circle. Everything is freely arising from the circle. The secret of circle - is in creation of technique due to penetration into main center of space.
