Attacks in Aikido

As a rule the following blows are used in Aikido:

- Uraken (impact/blow by the back part of a fist)

- Shomen uchi - vertical top-down cutting impact/blow. This blow is made by an edge of a palm (with step, as a rule)

- Yokomen uchi; it is subdivided into two kinds of impacts/blows:

- Omote Yokomen uchi - side top-down cutting blow. This blow is made by an edge of a palm on an external trajectory...

- Ura Yokomen uchi - side top-down cutting blow; this blow is made by an edge of a palm on an internal trajectory...

- Tsuki (Tski) - Fist blow. It is subdivided into three levels:

- Tsuki jodan - impact/blow in the top level; as a rule in a head

- Tsuki chudan (Mune Tsuki, Kote Tsuki) - impact/blow in a middle level; as a rule in a stomach

- Tsuki gedan - impact/blow in the low level; as a rule in a groin.
